Racism is wrong. You know that, I know that, its a message thats been ingrained into minds from everything from religion to pop culture. It's common sense, you don't judge people based on skin color, why would you? I have read way to many blogs, and seen way to many videos of open, accepted racism towards white people and frankly, I'm sick of it. It's really ironic how the term "White privilege" didn't come along, or at least become mainstream speak, until around half a century after the civil rights act was passed. Speaking of which, remember how hard civil rights leaders like Martin Luther King fought to fight segregation? If you weren't around back then (as I, and probably MOST people today were not.) However, the internet is full of ful footage from the 1960's of white people protesting racial integration, not wanting their children to go to school with black children, but today we see a completely opposite message from the people on the left. Black people should be segregated into safe spaces, and colleges that are specifically for black people, how is this integration? It's common knowledge that racial segregation only hurts the citizens that are of a minority race, hence the signs that once read "End segregation". Now we're treated to such jems of wisdom as " black people need safe spaces, on campus away from white people." While the left likes to paint white people as the privileged majority, let's bring some attention to privileges that black Americans can enjoy, shall we? All black colleges all across the country, the NAACP, CORE Congress Of Racial Equality, Affirmative Action, The Rainbow Collision, The United Negro College Fund, various film grants are available for black and hispanic filmmakers only, and if you're a white person, by all means, try to apply for section 8 housing, and let me know how that goes. You can get it...eventually, but you'll be discouraged, believe that. Black people are constantly condensed to by the system, and unfortunately, the popular thing to do bgg is lap it up. Even their SAT scores to get into college are set at lower standard than whites and asians. Lets hear it for equality.
